Welcome to the New Technical Services Blog! - College of Charleston Libraries

Hello everyone,

A lot of things are changing in the Technical Services department, and we want to keep you informed of our progress.  Here’s a highlight of some of the major transitions you will be seeing from us this fiscal year:

• The approval plan will now arrive fully cataloged and will no longer be displayed in technical services.  With this change, the plan will now be referred to as shelf-ready approval.  Check our blog on a weekly basis for a listing of all items arriving on the shelf-ready approval plan.
• Firm order selection will be submitted through Gobi.  Stay tuned to the library listserv for upcoming training dates, or contact Lindsay Barnett with specific questions.
• Visit our LibGuide for updates, Gobi tutorials, and other useful information about Collection Development.
