Spoleto | Tibetan Monk Creates Sand Mandala - College of Charleston Libraries

The College Libraries are pleased to host the Charleston Tibetan Society as they present the creation of a Sand Mandala in conjunction with the 2019 Piccolo Spoleto Festival.

The building of the Mandala is performed by a Tibetan monk for the purification of negative energy and the promotion of healing. The public is invited to watch him work.

Opening Ceremony: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25

Artist Hours: 10:00 a.m.—noon and 2:00—5:00 p.m., May 26—June 1 (closed Monday, May 28, for Memorial Day)

Closing Reception: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1

Addlestone Library is open to the College of Charleston community and affiliates via card access. Visitors may access Addlestone Library Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and must present a government issued ID and sign in upon entry.
