Update on Addlestone – Inside and Out - College of Charleston Libraries
March 1-7
As you can see, the first phase of the move has started. Starting Saturday (tomorrow), movers will be packing up the bound periodicals and storing them in the rotunda. The Spacesaver team will be moving a few empty carriages from bound periodicals into the general collections compact shelving. This work will be completed during Spring break.
In a totally unrelated project, electricians will be boring on Rivers Green as part of the plan to install additional lighting in this area.
We are continuing to work on plans and coordinate schedules for the major push which begins as soon as exams are over. The last exam starts at noon on Saturday May 3, and we’re expecting the movers to start moving books that afternoon, the shelving company will start dismantling the static shelving on Monday morning and the construction crew will start working in the building on Monday too. Technical Services staff will be moving into temporary space on the first floor.
Thanks everyone for making this work,
Claire
