Robert Scott Small Library - College of Charleston Libraries

Right before Addlestone, there was the Robert Scott Small Library!

Pictured here are Robert Scott Small and Cussie Johnson with shovels in hand, and Dean Hill Womble in his academic regalia at the groundbreaking ceremony commemorating the beginning of a new chapter for the campus library. Serving as the main library from 1972 until Addlestone opened, the building has since transformed into a hub for classrooms and lectures, continuing to support learning in a new way.
