New Exhibit: Evacuation, Occupation, Liberation: The British Channel Island of Guernsey under the Third Reich, 1940-1945 - College of Charleston Libraries
For five long years, Nazi Germany occupied the British Channel Islands, just off the coast of Normandy, France. This collection of photographs, newspapers, wartime propaganda, and personal memorabilia and communications invites you to glimpse one small corner of the Second World War in the context of a young family living on the idyllic island of Guernsey during the German occupation. Curated by Geoffrey P. Timms, Librarian for Marine Resources, this exhibit is currently displayed on the third floor of the Addlestone Library.
